Protein shakes are a great breakfast option in the mornings. You can pack a lot of nutrients in a power smoothie.  But if you are looking for healthy options instead of your standard smoothie, try this delicious Swiss Muesli recipe:




1 cup large flake rolled oats Oats are a source of water soluble fibre which will help keep you regular.
2 apples Rich in fibre and contain important antioxidants and phytonutrients all beneficial for our cardiovascular and digestive system.
Juice of ½ lemon Juice of a lemon is a great way to naturally stimulate liver function.
2 tbsp maple syrup or honey Natural sweetener options
1 cup plain organic kefir/ goat yogurt Bioavailable protein source which is a neutral pH.
½ tsp cinnamon, ½ tsp turmeric Cinnamon stabilizes your blood sugar level, helping you to stay full longer.Turmeric is an excellent anti-inflammatory and anticancer. 
2 tbsp raw pumpkin seeds Rich in zinc and selenium, pumpkin seeds are a great way to add minerals in the diet which boost the immune system
2 tbsp sliced raw almonds Great source of protein and good fat. Almonds are great for the cardiovascular system.
2 tbsp raw sunflower seeds Great source of protein and fat.
1 cup fresh berry medley (raspberries, blueberries, blackberries etc.) Berries in general are high in antioxidants, are anti-inflammatory, and detoxifying.



  1.  Before going to bed, place oats in bowl and cover with water by approximately 1 inch. Cover and leave to rest in kitchen on counter overnight.
  2. Peel the apples and grate them into the bowl with the soaked oats. Add lemon juice and all remaining ingredients.  Stir thoroughly and serve!
  3. Enjoy!
